Can You Take Iron and Melatonin Together?
No documented interaction was identified between iron and melatonin in the sources reviewed.
See the full Iron page and Melatonin page for other reviewed interactions and reference information.
What the interaction means
Iron's NIH ODS fact sheet names levodopa, levothyroxine, lansoprazole/omeprazole, and calcium as its documented drug interactions -- melatonin is not among them. NCCIH's melatonin page names exactly two classes needing medical supervision -- epilepsy and blood thinner medications -- and iron fits neither.
No documented interaction between Iron and Melatonin was identified in the authoritative sources reviewed. This is not a guarantee that no interaction exists for every dose, formulation, or individual -- it means the sources checked did not document one.
Practical context
Iron's NIH ODS fact sheet and NCCIH's melatonin page were checked directly, full text, in both directions. Neither source names the other.
