Can I Take These? is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains what happens to the information you give it.

The interaction checker

No account is required to use the checker. The supplements and medications you select are sent to our server only to compute your results (via a background request, not a URL with your selections in it), and are not permanently stored, logged in full, or shared with any third party. We do not send your selected substances, checker combinations, or any other health-related checker input to any analytics or advertising service described below -- this is a deliberate design choice, not an incidental one: the checker components have no code path capable of emitting that data as an analytics event.

Analytics

We use Histats for basic website traffic and pageview analytics -- for example, which pages are visited and how often. Histats is loaded on every page of this site and, like most web analytics tools, may set cookies or collect standard technical information such as your browser and general location from your device. We use it for ordinary site traffic analytics only: we do not send it your selected supplements or medications, your checker combinations, or any other health-related information you enter into the checker. We have not independently verified Histats' own compliance with any specific privacy law or regulation; if you have concerns about third-party analytics, you can block Histats using a browser extension or ad blocker, and the rest of the site will continue to work (the interaction checker requires JavaScript to function regardless of whether analytics are blocked).

We also use privacy-safe Google Analytics 4 for basic, aggregate page-view measurement. It stays off by default and only loads if you explicitly accept analytics via the banner or the cookies page -- we never assume consent. Like Histats, it is never sent your selected supplements/medications, checker combinations, or any other health-related information; we do not create custom events or audience segments based on checker activity. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers, standard for that service.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site works with Google AdSense. As of this writing it does not display active ad units -- Auto ads and automatic ad optimization are kept off, and the AdSense account is under Google's review. A Google-owned verification/loader script may still load so Google can confirm site ownership; that script does not itself place an ad. If and when ads are actually shown, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure them, and personalized advertising is subject to consent for visitors covered by European regulations (see the next section). As with analytics, checker selections and combinations are never sent to an advertising service, and this page will be updated with further specifics once ads are actually displayed.

Google's advertising consent dialog (EEA / UK / Switzerland)

For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google operates its own certified consent-management dialog (Google Privacy & Messaging) satisfying Google's publisher requirements for those regions. That dialog is Google's own product -- separate from, and not a replacement for, the analytics accept/reject control described above. The two controls govern different things (advertising consent vs. our own analytics opt-in) and are built so they do not both prompt you for the same choice: our own banner does not automatically appear for a visitor Google's dialog already covers.

Corrections

If you submit a report via corrections, we store the details you provide and your email address only if you choose to give one, so we can review the report and, if needed, follow up. That information is not publicly readable and is not used for anything other than reviewing the report.

Server logs

Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard, minimal web server logs (such as request method, path, and status code) for operating the site. We do not deliberately log the contents of checker requests.

Saved profiles

This site does not currently offer saved health profiles or accounts. If that changes in the future, we will add explicit consent, a clearer privacy explanation for that feature specifically, and delete/export controls before launching it -- not simply because our database schema happens to support it.
