Zinc
A mineral that supports immune function, wound healing, DNA and protein synthesis, and the sense of taste.
What it is
Zinc is a nutrient people need to stay healthy. It helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses, and the body also uses zinc to make DNA and proteins, heal wounds, and support a proper sense of taste. Common supplement forms include zinc sulfate, zinc acetate, and zinc gluconate; it isn't clear whether one form is absorbed better than the others.
