What it is

Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. The FDA label states it is indicated for: "Treatment of hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older; Adjunct therapy for heart failure; Treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction."

How it is commonly taken

The recommended initial dose is 10 mg once a day for hypertension, or 5 mg once daily as a starting dose for heart failure, per the FDA label.
