What it is

Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic prescribed for various bacterial infections. Along with tetracycline antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin are documented to have reduced absorption -- of both the antibiotic and co-administered zinc -- when taken too close together with a zinc supplement.
